About Adam
Adam is the Lead Osteopath at Adjust. Adam has over 15,000 hours consulting experience helping people with pain. As well as overseeing our clinical provision he also sees a limited number of complex pain patients. He specialises in the treatment of long-term and re-occurring pain and injuries and has a specific clinical interest in the low back, pelvis and hip pain.
In 2019 his career took an unusual turn when he was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma (MM) a rare form of blood cancer, associated with chronic pain. He went from being the practitioner to the patient. Thankfully Adam’s pain is now under control and he is keen to use his experience as a patient to add a dimension of empathy to his evidence based approach to helping people with pain.
Beyond Osteopathy
Outside the clinic Adam enjoys spending time with his family and when his health and the weather conditions are favourable, he also enjoys riding his bicycle.

I started working as a massage therapist in 2010. I have a level 5 qualification in Sports Massage.
In adition to this i have specialised in myofacial release techniques and successfully completed 645 hours of training to become a Structural Integration Therapist.
This type of treatment focus on the whole body rather than one specific area. It is a excellent treatment for those who have tried numerous other treatments but not managed to solve the problem.
I treat a wide variety of clients, some come to ease chronic pain and stress, others are hoping to improve their athletic performance. Others are interested in exploring their body awareness and vitality. Every treatment is different because it is tailored to your individual needs.
I start every session assesing the body posture to create a unique plan to give the best treatment possible.
The treatment will include some movement or exercises on the table or in sitting. You may be asked to walk, bend, rotate, stretch etc for this reason I encourage my client to wear comfortable underwear.
If you are looking to move with grace, breath with ease, and to find relief from pain and discomfort along the way I believe Structural Integration treatments may be for you.

After spending weeks with the club physio due to a long-term injury, I developed a fascination for the human body and its biomechanics. This led me to study Sport and exercise science at college and then on to a degree in Sports Therapy at the University of Kent.
I have gained a lot of experience working in different sports clubs and clinics. I have worked with rugby clubs, running clubs and football clubs. I am now the head sports therapist at Cromford and Wirksworth Town FC, where sports massages are highly requested. Personally, I have a deep passion for volleyball and brazilian jiujitsu, but I don't shy away from other sports and activities too. Simply knowing about mobility and stability goes a very long way!
Pain and discomfort are the biggest frustrations for us humans, and it's one of our biggest fears. But pain is a survival skill! It's your body's way of telling you to either slow down or change something in your routine. I'm here to give you relief and recovery for your aches and tell you what it is that needs to change for these problems to stop coming back to you.
I love what I do and I always go above and beyond for all of my clients.
P.S. For anyone that needs help in another language, aside from English, I'm fluent in Lithuanian and Russian :)

I love being able to help people and see the benefits massage can bring to their lives.
I lost my sight six months before graduating from university. I went to work in occupational therapy where part of my role was to identify physical difficulties and help people improve their quality of life. This combined with my knowledge and love of sport and fitness led me to train in 2018 at Loughborough as a sports massage therapist with a focus on anatomy and sports injuries. I have both Level 4/5 qualifications. I believe that whenever one feels pain or discomfort, one's body is letting you know there is a problem that needs to be addressed.
I use massage to treat and aid recovery following injury or overuse and to provide comfort and relief from pain. I have knowledge and experience in neurological assessment, rehabilitation, and functional exercise as well as other skills.
This enables me to tailor the treatment to the needs of the individual, addressing concerns and restoring confidence. I have worked with a wide range of people such as professional boxers and martial artists in London and semi-professional footballers, along with people who suffer from demanding lifestyles, chronic or acute conditions.

My approach is to work broadly and slowly with the muscles and tissues, moving beyond the site of pain alone, and allowing the body to relax and release along its connective pathways, often using the weight of both my own and the client's body to enable deeper work. I believe anybody and everybody can benefit from a regular massage to promote physical health and general wellbeing.

In the past 10 years, I have become pretty obsessed with running and achieved the Championship Qualifying time in the London Marathon, and compete for Mansfield Harriers AC.

Reflexology
Days in clinic: Friday
In 2013 I began having reflexology for fertility, my daughter was born in 2014, having had this first-hand experience I am very aware of the benefits it provides to the body and mind. I trained with David Wayte at Jubilee College and graduated with a Level 5 Mastership in Practioner Reflexology which included fertility and pregnancy. I am a Full Member of the Association of Reflexologists.
My previous career of 14 years was in education teaching Level 3 Sports Science and supporting student wellbeing. Over this time it has become clear to me the importance of wellbeing, it has therefore been a natural progression for me continue to support others holistically through the art of reflexology.

Days in clinic: Wednesday
I qualified in massage in 2003 and went on to gain a post graduate Diploma in Acupuncture from
the Norther College of Acupuncture in York. I have been in practise since 2006 working in clinics in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. I have also been part of a project working for a GP surgery with patients suffering chronic pain as well as spending over 15 years working in a hospice and leading a team of complementary therapists.
My training involves both modern western approaches and traditional chinese approaches to treatment, the approach is holistic but also informed by modern trials in acupuncture research and an extensive grounding in trigger point therapy.
As well as acupuncture I also offers electro acupuncture, massage, infra red heat treatment and cupping. I'm happy to assess musculo-skeletal disorders for treatment but also a broad reange of other conditions.
The British Acupuncture Council, of which Matt is a member, publishes details of the evidence for some
conditions treated with acupuncture.
