About Adam

Adam is the Lead Osteopath at Adjust. Adam has over 15,000 hours consulting experience helping people with pain. As well as overseeing our clinical provision he also sees a limited number of complex pain patients. He specialises in the treatment of long-term and re-occurring pain and injuries and has a specific clinical interest in the low back, pelvis and hip pain.

In 2019 his career took an unusual turn when he was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma (MM) a rare form of blood cancer, associated with chronic pain. He went from being the practitioner to the patient. Thankfully Adam’s pain is now under control and he is keen to use his experience as a patient to add a dimension of empathy to his evidence based approach to helping people with pain.

Beyond Osteopathy

Outside the clinic Adam enjoys spending time with his family and when his health and the weather conditions are favourable, he also enjoys riding his bicycle.

I graduated in 2008 with a BA Hons degree in Holistic Sports Therapy with Strength and Conditioning, and I have also recently completed my Level 4 Sports Massage qualification. I believe being versatile is an important part of any therapists treatment plan; I have been lucky enough to work with members of my local running club, pitch-side with Sheffield FC girls, members of my local community into all different sports such as golf and football and over the last 12 years predominantly with swimmers.

2019 has been the highlight in my career so far as I was able to work as part of the Medical Team for the Vitality Netball World Cup held in Liverpool in July and then at the World Para-Swimming Championships held at the Olympic pool in London in September.

When I’m not treating clients, I enjoy swimming, the Netball Super league and the International Swimming League, plus I’m big on NFL supporting Miami!

After spending weeks with the club physio due to a long-term injury, I developed a fascination for the human body and its biomechanics. This led me to study Sport and exercise science at college and then on to a degree in Sports Therapy at the University of Kent.

I have gained a lot of experience working in different sports clubs and clinics. I have worked with rugby clubs, running clubs and football clubs. I am now the head sports therapist at Cromford and Wirksworth Town FC, where sports massages are highly requested. As well as my passion for sports massage, I also enjoy creating effective rehabilitation programmes for my clients to help them return to their pain-free active lifestyle.

So I will work with you to understand how you can get the most out of the treatment I provide.

I originally qualified in Massage Therapy and sports massage in 2014 where I further developed my knowledge of anatomy and physiology while working for the royal Caribbean aboard their cruise liners.

This experience has allowed me to establish a positive rapport with a wide range of clients from different cultures and backgrounds. Once I returned in 2018, I continued working in a well-established day spa and I am now continuing my self-development by undertaking a Physiotherapy Degree at the University of Nottingham.

I really enjoy helping people improve their well-being whilst sharing my knowledge because it is extremely rewarding. I take pride in what do, and it shows in the treatments I perform and the experience I give to my clients.
