About Adam
Adam is the Lead Osteopath at Adjust. Adam has over 15,000 hours consulting experience helping people with pain. As well as overseeing our clinical provision he also sees a limited number of complex pain patients. He specialises in the treatment of long-term and re-occurring pain and injuries and has a specific clinical interest in the low back, pelvis and hip pain.
In 2019 his career took an unusual turn when he was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma (MM) a rare form of blood cancer, associated with chronic pain. He went from being the practitioner to the patient. Thankfully Adam’s pain is now under control and he is keen to use his experience as a patient to add a dimension of empathy to his evidence based approach to helping people with pain.
Beyond Osteopathy
Outside the clinic Adam enjoys spending time with his family and when his health and the weather conditions are favourable, he also enjoys riding his bicycle.

I qualified in Sport and Remedial Massage in 2010 at the London School of Sports Massage. My approach is to work broadly and slowly with the muscles and tissues, moving beyond the site of pain alone, and allowing the body to relax and release along its connective pathways, often using the weight of both my own and the client's body to enable deeper work. I believe anybody and everybody can benefit from a regular massage to promote physical health and general wellbeing.
I also hold a BSc in Acupuncture from the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, which I obtained in 2008.

Now I like to focus on sports massage and one of my biggest client bases is runners. From being one myself, I know exactly what you're going through!

My passion for sports started at a young age, leading me to study a degree in Sports, P.E & Coaching Science.
Having experienced numerous injuries and the resulting rehabilitation periods, I understand the need for massage for the prevention of injury and for the rehabilitation afterwards.
As well as working for Adjust, I also work with British Canoeing. I have supported an international rower during their training to help to keep them injury free in the run up to their events.

I qualified in sports massage therapy back in 2016, and thrive on helping people improve their general wellbeing, fitness and motivation to be healthier, whether you participate in sport or not. I also aim to continue to build strong and trustworthy relationships with all my clients going forward.
I’m also First Team Sports Massage Therapist at Mansfield Town Football Club, and gained my FIFA Football Medicine Diploma back in 2020.
My connection with sport goes back many years, when I was part of the British Cycling scene. I achieved 97 race wins, including the British Junior Time Trial Championship, the British 100km Team Time Trial Championship, the Midlands Road Race Championship, and also gained selection for the UCI World Championships for Great Britain too, and represented Great Britain on more than 20 occasions.
In the past 10 years, I have become pretty obsessed with running and achieved the Championship Qualifying time in the London Marathon, and compete for Mansfield Harriers AC.
All of my own sporting experiences often come in very useful to enable me to understand many of my clients’ requirements, along with the psychological effects injury and poor mobility can have on our daily lives.
I very regularly treat several Elite sports people ranging from cyclists and swimmers to athletes.

I have always been fascinated by the workings of the human body so I trained as a sports massage therapist and complementary health practitioner.
Whilst I can provide a number of different treatments to a wide range of clientele, who vary in age from 16 to 96 years(!), my passion is remedial and sports massage. Sports massage isn't just for athletes; some of the toughest shoulders I have worked on are those of busy parents and office workers. Using a combination of techniques and stretches, I'm persistent in making sure you leave happier and knot-free.
I love both my work and my clients and the satisfaction I get from helping them, is in my opinion, priceless.

I have always been fascinated by movement and the human body. I have a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science and an MSc in Musculoskeletal Sport Science and Health. Although it was all interesting, it was predominantly theory based so I decided to get more hands on and train as a remedial and sports massage therapist alongside my first degree.
I enjoy working with a wide variety of clients and tailor treatment to the individual's needs, whether it be to treat specific injuries, to relieve aches and niggles or simply to maintain healthy tissue and prevent future injury.

When I'm not working at Adjust, I work at a well-known, local day spa as a massage therapist. I enjoy making people feel better, and I am able to tailor the massage to the needs of the client, whether this be a specific concern that needs addressing or purely a relaxation massage.

My background is in dance and physical theatre, having worked as a professional dancer for many years. I relocated to England in 2000 and after completing an MA in Newcastle upon Tyne, I later qualified as a Sports Massage Therapist, enhancing my knowledge of anatomy and how the human body works.
My take on Massage Therapy is based on a bespoke approach, responding to the client's needs and aiming to treat a particular muscle condition, or simply performing a full body maintenance massage.
Thanks to my daily yoga practice, and my yoga mentor, I have gained a deep understanding of body posture and how to improve body imbalances to avoid injury. I am currently undertaking advanced training in Clinical Yoga that I will soon incorporate into my therapy practice.
My favourite sports are hiking, swimming and archery. I play guitar and also continue dancing… although now, when no one is watching.
